Created in 2000; the Kawartha District Summer Hockey League (KDSHL) is an adult hockey league based out of Peterborough, Ontario. We are a semi-competitive ice hockey league that plays a majority of our games at the Peterborough Kinsmen Arena or the Healthy Planet Arena.
In general, the league is composed of individuals aged 30 - 70 years old. Skill level is heavily varied and teams are balanced using a draft system at the start of each year.
All games have one referee and we play “clear the zone” rather than having face-offs, with the exception of after goals. All game scores are recorded and the year finishes with a year end tournament where teams battle it out for the championship.
Our mission is to have fun! Penalties are minimal in the league and repeat offenders will not be invited back the following year. If you are looking to get some exercise, hang out with friends and meet new people, the KDSHL will be a great spot for you!
